I didn't set out to build a personal website. I set out to prove something — that you don't need a CS degree, a decade of coding experience, or a dev team to build real things on the internet. JoeyC.ai is the proof.
The site started as an experiment. I wanted to see if I could use AI tools — Claude, GPT, Cursor — to build a full production website from scratch. Not a template. Not a drag-and-drop page. A real site with custom animations, a CMS, a contact form, social integrations, and a content generation system.
Turns out, you can. And it's not even that hard once you stop overthinking it and just start building.
The Stack
JoeyC.ai runs on React, Tailwind CSS, Supabase, and Vite. The animations use GSAP. The content pipeline uses Claude via the Anthropic API. Everything is deployed on Vercel. I built the entire thing in conversations with AI — describing what I wanted, iterating on the output, and shipping it.
The Lesson
The biggest thing I learned is that the gap between "I have an idea" and "it's live on the internet" has never been smaller. AI doesn't replace thinking — but it removes the friction between thinking and doing. If you've been waiting for permission to build, this is it. Just start.
